The more we print and share, the more our attendance will grow. New growth will lead to more new activities and services, so help spread the word today!
The Washington County Adult Center (WCAC) opened in 1980 and was the final goal of local citizens and community groups to provide an outstanding place for senior citizens, 50 and over in Washington County, Oklahoma, to access socialization, education and a variety of services.
The WCAC 10-member board is made up of civic-minded volunteers who donate their time and expertise to maintain and operate the center on a daily basis. Board members hold 3-year terms of service and some have served in more than one position and/or through several terms. They include: President Kerric Franco; Vice-President Ken Grindle; Treasurer Mike Davis; Secretary Jan Swindell; and board members Mikahel Chuleewah, Kathy Gosner, Sue Lee and Joe Livingston. Two board seats are currently open.
The WCAC is owned and operated by Washington County Senior Citizens, Inc. WCAC membership is free. Services provided by WACA are free as well. However, there are organizations who use WCAC facilities that do charge for their services. There are also WCAC sponsored fundraising activities that provide for the operating expenses of the center.
